My trip to Savannah in July was chock full of inspiration. While we walked around, I kept a running iPhone note on all the foods that I wanted to make when I got home. Basically, I wanted to make ALL the peach things.
So when I was looking for an easy cocktail that I wanted to make this week when my sister was visiting, I knew that I wanted to do something with peaches. And what goes so well with peaches? Sweet tea! Okay, maybe that was a bit of a stretch… but is what more Savannah, GA than peaches and sweet tea? Nothing.
And this recipe could not be easier.
It is two ingredients (well, three if you count the garnish) and it is absolutely delicious! Plus, this uses minimal alcohol (just one portion) and diet peach tea… AKA this is a healthy cocktail that won’t break the calorie bank. And it’s garnished with fresh peach slices, so you can get in that extra portion of fruit during cocktail time! (and that’s definitely not a bad thing)
It starts with a glass (or a mason jar) filled with ice.
If you have been following the blog for a bit, you know that I LOVE mason jars. I recently got a couple of wide-mouth 16oz ones and I am obsessed. They are the perfect size for cocktails, plus they are the shape of a traditional glass! Also, mason jars = summer cocktails… right?
Once you have your chosen vessel filled with ice, splash in some sweet tea vodka.
It’s a little sweet, a little smoky, and definitely tastes like tea.
Then top off the whole drink with some chilled diet peach tea.
(seriously, two ingredients… this could not be easier!)
And garnish with a bunch of fresh peach wedges. They add extra “peachiness” to the drinks but also provide a little boozy treat at the end of your cocktail!
Pop in a super cute straw and then serve up to family and friends! A nice refreshing (and healthy) cocktail for your long weekend plans.
So, what are you up to this weekend? Let me know!
