This weekend was the perfect fall weekend.
It everything a fall weekend should have – pumpkins, apples, fritters, friends, and grad school throwbacks. I went to graduate school in a city that was surrounded by farms… basically my idea of nirvana. You had the hustle and bustle of a busy city but could reach the tranquil country in a fifteen minutes. So every fall, we (my family… and then my friends) would trek out to the nearest farm to buy apples and stuff ourselves with everything apple and pumpkin.
This weekend was no different!
My friend J and I spent the morning with our friend T and her absolutely enchanting baby boy before heading out into the brisk afternoon to do some apple picking.
How beautiful are these apples?
They grew in clusters, which made them a challenge to pick but it was so rewarding because you got 3-4 perfect apples at a time! Definitely an efficient way to pick apples 🙂
After we stuffed our bag completely full, we decided to walk around the farm a bit and admire the decorations (scarecrows, apple cannons, and cute cut-outs galore!) and the small petting zoo.
And we couldn’t have had a fall weekend without finding the perfect pumpkins!!
(and apple fritters… I remembered to take a picture AFTER I devoured them all)
It was the perfect weekend filled with friends, food, and everything fall.
So, what’s your favorite fall activity? Apple picking, pumpkin picking, eating cider donuts? Let me know!
Your apple obsessed friend,
Catherine
Hey Catherine, I love your Blog!! What a beautiful picture of the apple tree. Which farm did you go to? The thought of buying and eating an Apple Fritter makes me want to go apple picking.
Hi Mrs. Tsadilas! It was a farm upstate near my graduate school but there are so many great orchards in our area too ☺️
