I know that everyone is super obsessed with apples and pumpkin spice right now, but I am still in summer mode after my trip to Charleston, South Carolina!
During our trip, my friend E and I stumbled across a vendor selling homemade lemonade in the City Market. Who does not love lemonade on a hot, 90-degree Charleston day? (this girl) Bonus? The special of the day was a South Carolina Peach Lemonade… basically ALL my favorite summer things in one drink!
So when I came home with two pounds of South Carolina peaches, I knew that I needed to make a version of this amazing lemonade. But then I started to think. What is the other big drink in the South? Sweet tea. And what goes well with sweet tea? Lemonade and peaches.
Carolina Tea was born.
Peaches + Sweet Tea + Lemonade.
Yum.
(and it couldn’t be easier to make!)
It starts with a glass (or a mason jar).
Drop in a piece of fresh peach (or some thawed frozen peach slices).
Muddle the peach until it is broken up! You can use a real muddler, but if you don’t have one, use a wooden spoon. I though this was interesting when the lemonade vendor did it, but it allowed for bit of peach to float through the lemonade (which I loved!).
Toss in some ice.
Pour in some sweet tea vodka.
Pour in some lemonade and some diet iced tea. Stir thoroughly to combine.
Garnish with a peach slice and a cute straw!
Summertime (and good memories) in a glass!
