Two years.
24 months.
730 days.
Today marks my second anniversary of being a dietitian.
I can’t believe it has been two years since passing one of the biggest exams of my life. And this year has been the one of the most change since becoming a dietitian.
New job.
New responsibilities.
Newer credentials.
Last year, I didn’t know that I would be switching staff relief community clinical nutrition for GI/trauma clinical nutrition in a large research hospital. I didn’t know that I would become a full-time preceptor of interns and become a mentor to newer staff. I didn’t know that I would pass my CNSC exam (yay!) and add four more letters after my name.
It has been an awesome year full of growth and change.
But it has also been a study in balance and self-care.
This year has also taught me that I can’t (and shouldn’t) do everything. The past 52 weeks have been the hardest of my two years – balancing work, commuting, sleeping, blogging, recipe development, family, and friends has been intense, emotionally/mentally/physically.
But I would not trade this career path for anything.
Because I love my hospital.
Because I love how I can positively impact people’s lives.
Because I love the ability to come to work and LEARN every. single. day.
So, in the spirit of finding balance, growing as a dietitian, and practicing self-care, I am taking the month of August off from blogging. Because balance is important. Because amazing recipes are important. Because I love you and you deserve 100% of my attention.
Because I want Year Three to be as amazing as Year Two was.
See you in September, loves!
oxox,
Catherine
